Traditional Pottery Workshop with Mi'kmaq artist Valerie Jean: Day 3 (Traditional Firing)

Over the 4 part workshop, participants will learn about traditional techniques and create their very own handmade pottery with clay, with an on-the-land component of traditional firing techniques at Under One Sky.

Workshop Dates: Saturday, November 15th & Sunday, November 16th

Traditional Firing: Saturday, November 22nd & Sunday, November 23rd

Time: 9AM-430PM (all 4 days). Lunch will be provided

About the Facilitator:

Valerie Jean is a Mi'kmaq ceramic artist based in Fredericton, New Brunswick. A graduate of the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, she specializes in pottery that reflects both traditional techniques and contemporary design. Her practice is a reflection of identity, connection to the land, and the enduring strength of Indigenous traditions through clay.
