We recognize and respectfully acknowledge that we live, work and play on the unsurrendered and unceded ancestral lands of the Wəlastəkwiyik, Mi’kmaq and Peskotomuhkati peoples who have called this land home since time immemorial. These lands are covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship which the Wəlastəkwiyik, Mi’kmaq and Passamaquoddy peoples first signed with the British Crown in 1725. The treaties did not deal with surrender of lands and resources but in fact recognized Wəlastəkwiyik, Mi’kmaq and Passamaquoddy title and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations.

We honour the spirit of the land and offer gratitude to mother earth who carries the stories of the generations who came before us and the hopes of the generations after us.
