Wəli-Kehkitkowamək (Place of Good Teachings) Youth
Wəli-Kehkitkowamək is a vibrant community dedicated to empowering Indigenous youth through cultural connection, skill-building, and leadership development. Our program offers a safe space for youth to explore their heritage, engage in traditional practices, and participate in educational workshops and mentorship opportunities. We welcome youth aged 13-17 from all Indigenous backgrounds to join us in celebrating our rich heritage and shaping a positive future. Together, let’s build a strong, supportive community that inspires growth and resilience.
Program Components
Cultural Workshops: Participate in hands-on activities like moccasin making, beading, drumming and traditional dances.
Leadership Development: Gain valuable skills through training and information sessions with professionals in the field.
Networking Opportunities: Connect with peers and mentors who share your passion for Indigenous culture and advocacy.
Community Engagement: Contribute to local initiatives that uplift and amplify Indigenous voices and promote cultural awareness.

Nurturing Connections: Provides a safe and welcoming space where youth living with exceptionalities can come together to build meaningful relationships, socialize, and feel a sense of belonging. The program offers a variety of inclusive cultural activities, social events, and community gatherings designed to encourage self-expression, confidence, and connection in a supportive environment. For Youth, Led by Youth
The Indigenous Youth Council brings young people together to discuss and tackle the issues they see in their community providing a space to voice their concerns, hopes and dreams for their community as well as the chance and opportunity to create and have an impact, on their terms.
The council brings a youth perspective to the forefront, uplifting young voices and empowering the future generations.
