Eleyoltimək Kwəcəmək: A Shared Way of Life Outside

Under One Sky has designed intensive in-person workshops with a team of experienced facilitators that will introduce you to the pleasures and excitement of Indigenous land-based programming. This hands on workshop does not take a cookie-cutter approach. Instead this training will help you determine your own needs and goals and support you in creating your own safe and exciting outdoor program. We provide what we consider to be the most important lessons about starting a program, the success factors for us and key resources in supporting that success.

Why Land Based Learning?

Skitkomikw (Land) has a central role within Indigenous society. It is the source of community, culture, traditional knowledge and also plays an integral role in our health and well-being.

Land Based Learning is an opportunity to teach and learn cultural knowledge and language through direct experience of being “on the land” while encouraging confidence in the outdoors for children, staff and families. These experiences are not only meaningful and purposeful but also reconnect us with many aspects of traditional living.
